My First week at our New School

My highlight this week was: Kiwi Sports on Monday. Coach Aroon introduced a new game to us.
First he split us into two groups. He then set up cones in a square in order for us to run around.
At the 2 corners of the square, each team stood in front of a cone ready to run.
The point of the game was to get to 3 team players to the other side. So 1 team player from
each team was to run around the cones until they met each other. When they met,
they had to play rock, paper, scissors. Whoever won had to keep running as another team player
from the losing team would run.
My team lost and I think we could improve on our running.

My low light this week was: I have no low lights about this week, this week went great and I’m hoping
for better weeks like this week.

The Lost Kitten

 The Lost Kitten
WALT use speech marks in our writing.

One cold and rainy day Polly was walking home from school.
Suddenly she heard a loud and mournful cry                 “Meow, Meow, Meow.”

She looked under a bush and saw a little wet orange kitten.
“Who do you belong to?”  She picked up the kitten and snuggled him under her coat.

When she got home Polly went straight to her mother. “May I please keep him” she asked.
“Yes” said her mother. “But must promise to take care of him and feed him every day.”

Polly poured some warm milk into  a bowl and put a soft pillow in a basket
for his bed.

“I will name you Fletcher.” she said happily

Capital Letters / Full stops

Learning Intention:

We are learning to use capital letters and full stops in our writing.

Capital Letters / Full stops

The shark is a sea creature. It is the largest  fish in the ocean.
There are many different types of sharks.
The biggest shark is the great white shark. It has been known to
attack man one of the smallest sharks is the  sand shark.
Sand sharks are found at our beaches and are harmless.
Sharks can never stop moving because they need to have water flowing over their gills at all times.

The Change of Room 3!

26 February 2019
 The Change of Room 3
On Tuesday Mrs. Tui moved our desks out with the help of her students. She replaced them with 3 long tables. We thought at first, we were going to put our stationery on our desks and not put it anywhere. But Mrs. Tui also bought us trays to stall our stationery in.

I like our desk better because you don’t have to move around a lot you just have to lift the top up and grab your stuff like a book and a pencil.

The tables I don’t like because you have to move around a lot.  Getting to your tray is always hard because it is always crowded.

I like our desk’s because when the teacher says to get something we can stay in our place.

Also because it is not crowded.

Soccer trip

SOCCER

On Wednesday Me, Melenaite, Meile, Moala,
Pauline, Ana, Mele, and Krystal
And some of the boys to the Pt England
reserve.

We got there early so we had time to practice
and play.

My mum said to form a circle then my mum
would kick the ball to someone.
While we were kicking,
we have to say the name because my
mum did not know all our names.

Then the game started I think we versed
Tamaki Primary. They weren’t that challenging.

After a few games, we had a lunch break and
then we went back to the soccer team.

Then in the middle of one of the games,
it rained so hard our tent fell down. No one
realized that until Melie was playing with the
ball and looked at the tent then she told my
aunty. Mr. Gaffney went to fix it.

Then after that game, we were finished. Then
we went back to school.

After we got to school the people who
played soccer had to go and change
back into school uniform.

The people who were in Pauline's group got a
frozen coke put the people who came with
Mr. Gaffney didn’t get anything,
Taniela and I went together we
didn't get a frozen coke we got a mixed
frozen coke with three flavors.

After that, we went to the park and ate there.
