I am a year 6 student at St. Pius X Catholic School in Auckland, New Zealand. I am at the Te Wairua Pakiki 6 Learning Space. My teachers are Ms Nees-Kairua and Mrs Tui.
Today on the 14th of April, we were supposed to play Ki O Rahi but, when we had gotten there it started to rain very hard so then they people who hosted it said they will moved the tournament to next term, so then we went back to class and we watched a video about How Maui Slowed The Sun.
After we watched the video we had to weave a piece of paper then our teacher would give us a section of the video and then we had to draw that onto our piece of paper, after we finished our drawing we had to go over it with a black vivid. Then on a strip of paper we had to write our part out, my part was "Long ago,Te Ra the Sun began to move quickly across the sky".
Maui slowed the sun by plating a long piece of flax into a rope with his brother's then they we to his pit where he rose from and then threw the ropes on him and made him go across the sky slower.
Maui want to so down the sun so they can finish things in one days
Maui's friends laughed at him when he wanted to slow down the sun so he can finish things in one day.
Maui wanted to approach the sun at night so that the sun wouldn't see them.
I think that this story is a myth.
I think it was fair that Maui was forcing the sun to slow down .
Today I learnt about cocoa beans and how and when they used to be money back in the old days. The reason I am learning about cocoa currency because a Company (PWC Flip) our class and TWP 8 and taught us aout how to use money and save it
Today on the 8th of April I did the 9th Cyber smart challenge called Charging my Chromebook and I had to open a jam board and make a copy but it didn't let me make a copy so I had to screen shot it then answer it on a google drawing then after I finished that I had to take a photo of my Chromebook charging but my charger was at the back of my Chromebook so I took a photo of my friend Melenaite's Chromebook charging then I used her photo.
Something that was nice and easy was taking a photo of my friends Chromebook charging
Something that was that was hard and took a long time was doing the matching activity because I had one of the old Chromebooks and the photo was a new Chromebook.
Today I did Cyber Smart challenge 8. This Challenge was about animation and we had to do a animation of a boat sailing away. Something I found interesting was doing this challenge because I have never done a animation. Here Is My Work!
Today on the 7th of April in TWP 4 we learnt about Joan Wiffen and her early life and what fossils she found. Joan Wiffen is a paleontologist. A paleontologist is a person who study's bone's.

Last month we began our our cubism portraits based on Pablo Picasso's cubism art. In cubism you can play around with lots of different shapes and sizes. The facial like your eye's mouth, face and nose and they can be in different shapes sizes and in place's. We did two practice drawing before completing our final product. (You can read my blog about my first drawing - LINK). Something I found easy was outlining my drawing in black and something difficult was drawing my photo because I had never done this type of art so I didn't know what to do. This is Pablo Picasso's drawing of the Weeping Woman using cubism.
Today on the 29th of March I did my 4th International Women's Day Activity I choose a Writing Task Card I thought it wasn't going to take long but it took like 2 hours because I kept on getting distracted.
For the activity I had to brainstorm types of gender stereotypes that I have noticed, and choose one that is important to me. Then I had to create my own comic that has a scenario where a someone overcomes a gender stereotype.
Question : What is the most weirdest gender stereotype you have ever heard.
Here is my Story Board ( Click on my activity to go to Story Board That )
Today on the 25 of March I did my 3rd International Women's Day Activity it was a Reading task card I first had to read the comic then I answer the questions.
