Maraia - Plants in different environment

 Plants in different environment

Today in TWP whanau we wrote about our Dioramas in our group. We had to to a group evaluation where we rate yourself from 1 to 5 about how much work we put in. Then we had to create a google drawing and add a picture of our Diorama and blog.

Here are some facts that we knew about the bush.
1. If a cabbage tree catches on fire it wont burn
2. You can't cut Harakeke from the middle you have to cut it from the sides
3. Before cutting Harakeke you have to say a karakia (prayer) so you have perrmisson to cut the Harakeke.
4. The bush has a lot of plant that are used as medcine.

Maraia - Mother's day mass

Mother's day mass

Today we had a very special mass. We were celebrating Mother's Day early. Some mother's came and celebrated with us in mass.

In class this week we made our very own Mother's Day cards. First we folded a red cardboard paper in half, then we made a heart out of a to stirps of paper and then glued the bottom of a stripped paper onto the front of the card.

When then we shaped the two stripped papers into a heart we quilled paper and then glued the strips or quilled paper inside the heart. The we let our cards dry for one day.

Here is what I wrote

I appreciate my mother because she always helps me with my work.

I know my mum loves me because when I am sad or angry she will give me hugs.

I love my mum because whenever I make a decision she supports me

 Where is Mangahouanga Stream?

Today in class I did the Where is Mangahouanga Stream activity we basally had to add a picture of where is mangahouanga Stream and what was found in Mangahouanga Stream.

Something I found easy was adding in all the picture in.
Something I found hard was finding out why it was famous

Maraia - How Maui Slowed The Sun

 How Maui Slowed The Sun

Today on the 14th of April, we were supposed to play Ki O Rahi but, when we had gotten there it started to rain very hard so then they people who hosted it said they will moved the tournament to next term, so then we went back to class and we watched a video about How Maui Slowed The Sun.

After we watched the video we had to  weave a piece of paper then our teacher would give us a section of the video and then we had to draw that onto our piece of paper, after we finished our drawing we had to go over it with a black vivid. Then on a strip of paper we had to write our part out, my part was "Long ago,Te Ra the Sun began to move quickly across the sky".

Maui slowed the sun by plating a long piece of flax into a rope with his brother's then they we to his pit where he rose from and then threw the ropes on him and made him go across the sky slower.

Maui want to so down the sun so they can finish things in one days

Maui's friends laughed at him when he wanted to slow down the sun so he can finish things in one day.

Maui wanted to approach the sun at night so that the sun wouldn't see them.

I think that this story is a myth.

I think it was fair that Maui was forcing the sun to slow down .

Pablo Picasso Art - Cubism Final Drawing

Pablo Picasso Art - Cubism Final Drawing

Last month we began our our cubism portraits based on Pablo Picasso's cubism art. In cubism you can play around with lots of different shapes and sizes.  The facial like your eye's mouth, face and nose and they can be in different shapes sizes and in place's.
We did two practice drawing before completing our final product. (You can read my blog about my first drawing - LINK).
Something I found easy was outlining my drawing in black and something difficult was drawing my photo because I had never done this type of art so I didn't know what to do.

Pablo Picasso Art - Cubism Drawing #1

Pablo Picasso Art - Cubism Drawing #1

Yesterday, the 9th of March Te Wirua Pakiki 4 (TWP4) did some Art that is based on Pablo Picasso's cubism art.

In cubism you can play around with lot of shapes.. The facial features like your eyes, mouth, nose and ears can be in different shapes and sizes and places. Our teacher said that "Cubism is that it looks as if the painting was drooped cracked and cracked, and was rearranged  when put back together"  When we looked at the pictures we noticed that all of the facial features were different shapes, sizes and places.

After out teacher demonstrated and we saw lots of examples it was our turn to draw the steps had 3 stages and was very easy to follow.
Step 1:
In pencil, draw your head, any shape will work. You can use a mirror or draw from your imagination.
Step 2:
Add your facial features, eyes, nose, mouth, etc. Try to use shapes you noticed in your discussion.
Step 3:
Add your hair. What lines can you use to look like hair?
Here are some of his art!

Andy Warhol

Hello there last term my teacher told us about andy warhol and we took a photo of ourself and copyed it 6 times then the next term my teacher printe all our photos and gave them to us.

Then we looked at andy warhols art and disscused what we have to do then we all took our photos and had to go and draw our shadows but since there was only 5 viveds some people got viveds and people hd to write about andy warhol.

As one of the first people to use a viveds  I was one of the first people I got to use the pastels I colored my face white mt shirt blue and my background yellow in my first box (by the way it was ugly)!

Then after I fineshed my first box I gave the pastels to someone else and I went to do the vived again then the bell rang we packed up cleaned up stacked the chairs and got our bags.

Then we said our prayer and left our class me and my friends stella you have probally heard of her before in one of my other blogs, back to me and stella we went to sit on the bench outside our class and ate our lunch then we went home at the same time.
GOODBYE THANKS FOR READING✌
